The Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, was chartered Friday March 23rd, 1917 on the campus of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL by eleven extraordinary collegiate men. On behalf of the Tau Chapter, you are welcome to this website. Explore and learn more about the impact that we strive to make on the UIUC campus and beyond.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

VIsion

The objectives of this Fraternity shall be: to stimulate the ambition of its members; to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.

  • Our very own Bro. Ryan Christie was selected this year on the homecoming court.

  • The Tau Chapter will be walking as part of the Homecoming parade this year.

  • Bro. Lamar West and Bro. Taofik Sulaiman were accepted into the ThinkChicago Ideas Week program as part of only 200 students in the nation to attend the event this October 18th-20th in Chicago.

  • Lastly, both Bro. Ryan Christie and Bro. Taofik Sulaiman just returned from the Forbes 30 Under 30 conference which was an amazing experience and has given them many network contacts and resources for our future success. And will be attending the Afrotech conference this November for a similar experience.
